Need confirmation on appointment delete

P

Paulo

Hi,

We're running Outlook 2007 against an exchange server and notice
appointments just disappearing because of accidental deletes by colleagues.
Outlook does not prompt the user with a pop-up box to confirm the delete but
just removes it from the calendar.

We've browsed the Internet to find a way to enable the pop-up box to confirm
the delete but haven't found anything on it. Does anyone know how to enable
this function?

Thanks,
Paulo

Don't the deleted items end up in the Deleted Items folder where they can be
restored from 'accidental deletions'?

We use shared calendars that are part of a shared mailbox that every user has
(full) access to because it's not possible to set granular autorisations on
calendars owned by another user.

And yes, deleted appointments do end up in the user's PERSONAL deleted
items, but we can not check the deleted items of every user all the time. I
would expect that a pop up confirmation on deletes would be a standard
provision in Outlook. The fact that it's not makes the calendar exetremely
vulnerable for accidental deletes and moves (a slip of the mouse is enough to
move your appointment to another time without noticing it...).

Thanks,
Paulo

There's only confirmation on permanent deletes, not the transitory ones that
pass through the Deleted Items folder. You might be able to write code to do
what you want but that's not my forte...
