Need an automatic SR program

  • Thread starter Thread starter RScotti
  • Start date Start date
Sorry forgot this is world wide.
It is now 7:50 PM EST so it's been running for 5 + hours.
log says it successfully completed but it didn't when I checked SR.

Coool... but its 00.30 here in UK... lol

Now is that task running due to its scheduled task ? I guess?

When its finished make a note of its next run time and reboot (does triggers
have run task on start up).
Right now it says next run time is 4/07 @12:00 AM
Im only asking due to your registry changes (even though Jill says doesn't
affect it..lol) I think it does but who am I.

Have a good day,

Im shutting down now...

Shut down and restart, check next scheduled time is still same and if 12.00
AM try and leave pc on for that time...

Next run shouldn't be as long this time ( unless you do loads of changes in
the meantime..lol)

Once again, apologies for my abruptness earlier...

Post results and will check 2m.

Bye..

Firstly, forgive me but there is no third party app that I know of that
creates XP restore points. There are programes that make 'backups of your
system' to a previous point but that is different to 'restore points'
It seems your are right. There was one for XP cause I used it
Vista is the only program to do its own System Restore.

I didn't ask about contents of history, I advised you this was available to
assist you.

I specifically asked for specific information, which is the first step to
investigate your system restore...The last result is in the task line for
your SR task. (0x11111) , im a developer for Vista Shell and that code will
give me some indication of your error.
I can't find that only 0x111111 I see is below 0x41325
However messing with Vista Registry after having it for 5 days does not help
your case.
I didn't mess with the registry I did as Ed Bott suggested in his book Vista Inside Out MS Press.
If you wish assistance then reply to each point in my post I try again.

Okay, feeling a bit guilty for my ' unusual posts' I apologise...

Initially I would ask about Event viewer (system and application logs) if
nothing there, Lets start with Task Scheduler...
Nothing in Event Viewer in App's or System.
Task Scheduler Library
Microsoft
Windows
System Restore..

Maximise the screen..
At the top there should be the task and status should be queued, is this
there? If it is what is the 'Last Run Result' and anything in the 'next run
time' or last run time ?
The status still says running
It still says the something as before
Next run time 4/7/2007 12 AM
Last run result "The task scheduler has asked the task to run (0x41325)
Middle Screen / section should have a tab.. Triggers
By default it should show Daily and a time and 'At Start Up' are these
entries here ? Yes

Failing this, as it is a Systemax pc, you may have to run their 'RESTORE to
FACTORY SETTINGS ' option, I do not know how they are doing this presently.
either a disk or hard drive restore partition.
They said I would have to send it back. I do have an OEM disk but don't know how to change or delete the RAID 0
so I can have back my two 500 GB HD's

Hi POP.
I hope I answered all your questions yesterday.

Last run time 6:05 PM Last run result "The operation completed successively (0x0)
Then it changed to Last run @ 9:09 PM code (0x41325) I noticed this at 9:14 PM
It is now 7:04 AM ESDT and now it says last run time is 4/7/07 12:51 AM
Next run time is 12:00 4/8 now.
Also I made a Complete PC Backup and it did make a restore point for that at 10:58 PM yesterday.that's the only one it
made except the manual ones I did.
I also made a new RP @ 7:25 AM this morning.
I just tried to run the schedule again and still says last run time 4/7/07 12:51 AM
It is now 12:10 PM ESDT and it was still running. I stopped it by closing the Task Scheduler and reopened it. Now it
says the last run time is 4/7/07 7:36 AM Next run time is still 4/8/ 12:00 AM code is still (0x0)

I also got this from the history file:
Task Scheduler successfully finished "{877B1D8F-1B30-4F4A-B59C-F105E6DE3F21}" instance of the "\Microsoft\Windows\SystemRestore\SR"
task for user "WORKGROUP\RLS-PC$".
