Need advice

I've just learned that I can get FP2003 (full version) at a VERY reasonable
cost. And since I have no "bells and whistles" FrontPage add-ins, I'm going
to buy FP2003 and select the FrontLook software as my proze.

I'm feeling soooooooooo good this week! My birthday is today and I've had so
many things go right since yesterday. I'm not going to question it - I'm
just going to accept it and be grateful. Even the weather is going well! I'm
in SE Pennsylvania and the thermometer says it's 74.8° right now. The
windows are open, I'm on jury duty this week but it's Election Day so the
courthouse is closed today, Mom bought lunch, and the deli where we ate
gives you a free dessert on your birthday. I hope everyone has as lovely a
day as I am having today!

Since font tags seem to work in all browsers, I truly see no reason to
change. <g>

To me, the issue isn't that

<span style="font-family: Arial; ">Howdy!</span>

offers any particular advantage over

<font face="Arial">Howdy!</font>

The advantage of CSS comes when you have one stylesheet file for the
whole site, and you assign formatting by class. That is, you code

.norm { style="font-family: Arial; }

once, in a .css file, and then

<span class="norm">Howdy!</span>
or <td class="norm">Howdy!</td>
or <p class="norm">Howdy!</p>

in dozens or hundreds of places throughout the site. Now you know that
your typography is uniform throughout the site, and if you need to
change it everywhere, you can do so from one place.

Agreed!

However I currently do the same thing and more, using Classic ASP via a site
wide configuration file that allow me to control fonts, colors, page titles,
copyright dates, meta tags, paths and images to be displayed on a page by
page basis or domain, etc. and not have to worry about different browser
versions, which you do have to be more concerned with, when using CSS (more
so when used for other than fonts). In general I am providing the browser
with HTML that meets the HTML 3.2 recommendations.

Bottom-line, CSS has it place, but it is not a cure-all as many would have
other believe, nor is it a requirement to build websites, and can actually
require more time for implementation.

there is no "can" about it. it does require more time and thought to
implement.

Pretty part of the state - I love the forests. Spent the weekend there at a
HOG Rally (Harley Owners Group - used to date a biker).

Beautiful country.
I was raised around Elmira NY.
Roamed around the Finger Lakes
growing up.

there is a town across the river Wilkes-Barre. they've actually got 2/3
vacancy on commercial space in their "down town".
Today was election day.

I'll bet you it's not going to get better for quite a while.
