Using Windows XP. Am trying to make a copy of two files before closing down
at night. One copy
is going to my C drive and one to my E (Maxtor ext hard drive). The E copy
works but the C copy does not. Can someone please advise as to what could be
wrong? I have folders called Daily in C and E.

Copy C:\progra~1\Intuit\*.qbw E:\Daily

Copy C:\Progra~1\Quicken\*.qdf E:\Daily

Copy C:\progra~1\Intuit\*.qbw C:\Daily

Copy C:\Progra~1\Quicken\*.qdf C:\Daily
Thanks so much!

sounds like a quickbooks issue and
not one for windows as it entails internal
security features programmed into
their accounting software...

i think they are the Pros you need....

I am assuming that you are doing this copy after exiting Quicken?

How does the C copy "Not work"? Is there an error, or are the files
simply not where you expect them to be?

In the former, the error will probably tell what the problem is, in the
latter, I would assume that a search will turn up the files, and that
willh help troubleshoot it.

The answer depends on what errors you get when trying the copy. It sounds
like a NTFS permissions problem.

Windows Backup Scheduled to run every evening does the trick here. Just
set up two different backups, one for the C:\ drive and one for the E:\
drive.
