Nedd I worry about this virus?

My AVG report indicates that I have a viral infection however the test
reuslt shows that it has not been cleaned or removed to the virus vault.

Running a manual scan showed that I had a "javaByte/Verify" in two
files. ....Docs & Settings\Administrator\App
Data\Sun\Java\Development\cache\javapi\archive.jar-271e6c1-2e46a8b.zip
(infected embedded archive) & ......zip:\BlackboxClass.(imfected
embedded object)

A Symantec online security check indicated no viruses.

Should AVG not have done something about the virus please?

Do I need to take any action please?

TIA

Clear your cache with the Java control or delete it manually. Yes, yes you
need to worry about it.

Scan again when you're done.

Thank you for both the advice & the link; I'll certainly be following
G3's advice once I've dealt with my 2 viruses.

I can delete the two files manually using explorer however howI ndo not
know what you mean by clearing the cache using Java control; how would I
do this please?

TIA

Open the control panel, click on the Java plug-in icon (looks like a coffee
cup), click on cache, and click clear and follow the prompts.

Thank you. I'm using XP Pro. I don't seem to have a "cache" selection.

Under General I have About, Network Settings & Temporary Internet Files.
Clicking on TIF gives me three 2 choices - Delete & Settings.
Clicking on Delete gives me 3 choices Downlaoded Applets, Downloaded
Applications & Other Files.

If you can't find it (I am not sure which version you're using) you can
always just head to the file itself and delete it there manually. In control
panel (start > settings > control panel) I probably should have mentioned
that you'd want to click on classic view if not already done. You should
then have a handy dandy applet for controlling it. Under TIF you should be
able to get rid of everything without any problems at all and that should
take care of it.

Thank you. I could find the Java Control Panel; I just didn't have a
Cache option. I'm using XP Pro SP2 btw. I've deleted the TIF's.
