NDETECT.EXE APPLICATION ERROR

Every 3-5 minutes the following application error pops up:

NDETECT.EXE-Application Error The instruction at "0x0055302e" referenced
memory at "0x00590sc8". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to
terminate the program. Click on Cancel to Debug.

No matter which choice you select, the message continues to pop up. Does
anyone know how to fix this.

Thanks,

Thanks,

Windows does not use a file named ntdetect.exe, only
ntdetect.com which is invoked at boot time. Your PC
is probably infected by malware. Find out where this
file resides, then rename it to "ntdetect.bad" and see
what happens.

I don't know the answer, but you can startby copy and pasting the full error
message into Google or other search engine. I did this just now and a number
of files popped up. I hope one of these will be helpful to you.

Ndetect.exe is the name of a file used by Norton products. Do you have any
Norton products installed? If so I would check with Norton tech support. As
Malke pointed out you can also Google for the error message. Messages of
that type can be caused by many things, a bug in the program, bad ram, a bug
in some other program that is conflicting with the program named in the
error message, etc. etc..
