navigation bar

I am using a theme in order to create a new company website so that i can use
buttons on my pages. When i created my website navigation one day, everything
worked fine. The next day when i went to add more pages and edit the ones
that i already had, everything became messed up. Now when i try to edit and
i am at my home page which is index.html and i go to navigation view in order
to go to a subpage or child page, when i click on a subpage it takes me to
the subpage but nothing i had dont the subpage previously was saved. For
example i am at my home page and i go to navigation view to go to a subpage
labeled clients when i double click, the clients.htm page comes up, but the
heading is home, and the buttons are all wrong, and all of my text that i had
previously saved is gone. Also, when i go to navigation bar preferences on
my home page, it reads my home page as a subpage of the child pages. I do
not understand this because my homepage is index.htm, but the navigation bar
options doesnt recognize this. I am fairly new to FP and i am using FP2000
so easy to understand replies are needed. Thanks ahead of time.

Your post is somewhat difficult to understand but try closing all open pages,
choosing Recalculate Hyperlinks from the Tools menu, and then seeing if that
produces a working Naviagtion view. (You may have to rebuild some portions of
the Navigation view diagram.

Also, if your Web resides on an IIS Web server, the home page should be
default.htm, not index.html.

I am having a similar problem. I have your book and have gone through the
page on 'navigation view.' I can't find 'recalculate hyperlinks' on the tool
menu for start. Ooops, I just discovered your page on adding child pages to
navigation view. However, my home page was showing it in html, on the web.
It is now blank. Is this because I deleted my index page, against the
warnings?

Yup.
The default file needs to be index.htm or index.html
FrontPage will rename it if needed when you publish.

My default file is index.htm. However, it is now coming out blank, on the
web. I have gone into the navigation menu and ascertained that the
navigation view recognizes my 'index, htm'file. I have been unable to publish
from FrontPage (which is another issue) and am publishing through fs_ftp,

What else can I do. My website is currently a blank screen.
