NAV2003 install prob

Have tried, for 4 days now, to re-install NAV2003 after a system breakdown.
Namely, cannot update Liveupdate as right after installation, NAV has this
to say:
"Windows XP 5.1.2600 Service Pack 1.
Common Client Core 1.02.
LiveUpdate was not able to complete this update.
Please contact...."
Thus, the last module -live-update- won´t install, autoprotect not on, email
prot not on, NAV-apps still run at the background as shown on task manager.
In the meantime, installed McAfee AV with all updates and that crashed the
machine when reading emails so took it off quickly.
What next ?
