NASCAR RACING 2003

Anyone managed to get my favourite game working? With me, it loads OK until
it actually tried to go to the track/car - then it just crashes.
Any ideas?

I just installed it now and it runs fine for me. It gives an error message
at the start about disabling some visual elements temporarily since the
"program is not compatible with Windows", but I don't see any issues.

My system is a P4 3.2, Asus P4P800SE, Radeon 9600XT, Audigy 2ZS, running the
latest Vista beta drivers from ATI and Creative. In the game I chose
DirectX @ 1280x1024.

What are you running?

Thanks for making me feel worse, Tim!
Seriously though, I'm running on Athlon x2 4400, X1900XT, Audigy, latest
betas from ATI and Creative, DirectX @ 1280x1024.
I've tried turning all visual elements off, and disabling sound, but still
just crashes when it tries to get to car/track.
This is driving me mad as it's my favourite game!

Installed and plays beautifully on a clean load of RC1 - Did not have to
even adjust it to run in compat mode or set it to disable DWM

Works flawless - Much Much Much better than EA Sport Nascar SimRacing -
which is so trying to be this game and even though it may look prettier - It
does not work on Vista at all - Thanks EA.... Papyrus is no more, but still
after 3 years has a better game!

No it does not help you, other than to answer your question if the game
works. I will assume that your issues are hardware/driver related. There is
no other reason as to why the game would work on my system and not yours
other than the difference of hardware and its driver support

I will list my system specs so that you may make a base comparison. Good
luck getting this fantastic game to work -

Dell Dimension 4700
P4 3Ghz HT enabled
2GB DDR2 - 4200
160GB SATA Drive
Creative Labs SB Live! 24Bit - Latest Vista drivers
ATI Radeon x700 Pro PCI-E x16 - Microsoft WDDM drivers

Hi Tony! I'm just incredibly jealous that you have it working! I love that sim.
We have very similar setups.
I have AMD64 x2 4400
2Gb DDR2
160Gb SATA drive
ATI x1900XT with latest ATI drivers (I've also tried Windows WDDM)
Creative Labs Audigy with latest Creative drivers.
I really wish that I could get this to work! It's the only game/app that I'm
struggling with on Vista.

Did you do a clean install of Vista?
x86 or x64

I found that after I installed the latest ATI drivers, that my directx games
had corrupt textures... even when reverting back to the WDDM driver.

I did a clean install and just left the Microsoft driver installed, and it
worked perfectly out of the box... now you do have a new generation chip
with the X19xx card...Im still on the X7xx series... possibly the drivers in
box dont support the feature set of your card as its too new.

Interesting Tony! No, it wasn't a clean install, it was an upgrade. I also
noticed that whenever I installed the latest ATI drivers for RC1 that other
games had texture corruption that weren't there in Beta 2 and the appropriate
drivers.
However.... I tried a clean install of RC1 earlier, and I just got a system
reboot when it reached 21% of 'expanding files', then a BSOD.
I tried again with no luck. So, I'm back to XP until I can find a solution
to why my RC1 won't install!

I've installed on several diff. systems and they all worked just fine all
but one was a clean install from beta 1 to rc1. did you try to reinstall rc1
