Try this:

1. Double click the Volume icon in the Systray.
2. The Play Control dialog should open.
3. Click on Options and select Properties.
4. Click on the radio button next to "Recording".
5. Is the Microphone object checked? If not, check it and try your narration
again.

Try this:

Control Panel, Sounds and Multimedia Properties
(or it might be called Sounds and Audio Devices Properties)

On the Audio tab choose your logitech device (or if it's USB, choose USB Audio
Device) under Sound Recording.
