Narration and hardware problems

Powerpoint (2003, norwegian version) cannot detect the sound input from my
sound card (Terratec DMX 6fire 2496). I can tell because Powerpoint reports
"Receiving no sound from the microphone" when I try to set record level.
've gone through the setups over an over again. The sound card works OK with
other applications.

Some say that the narration capabilities in Powerpoint aren't very
satisfing. Would it be a better idea to make the narration (slide by slide)
in another application (Cubase) and then import the soundclips?

I agree with those who say that PPT's narration capabilities aren't very
good. I would make the narration in another application and import the
soundclips.
