Nagging Annoyances In XP

Two annoyances I have found in XP. I LIKE to have th status bar ON
while using Windows Explorer or My Computer. No matter what I do, it
will NOT keep that bar ON. Tips anyone? Second, I have XP on MY
computer and on my wife's (both legit) On my computer, when I click on
the START button, the window opens, but closes if I even SKIM the
quicklaunch area. This is VERY annoying, as I have poor fine control
with my hands due to arthritis. Is there a way to KEEP the Start menu
window OPEN until I at least GET to the choice IN it I want to click on?
Or at least keep the focus on THAT area until I actually CLICK on
another area? Sometimes the NEW features are more of a PITA than to
just leave them out, IMHO. ;-Deano

Scroll downLine line 67, right side and click "Enable show status bar" to
download the reg file. Double click the downloaded file to merge into the
registry.

Next, go to line 54 and click "Save settings on exit" to download the reg
file. Double click the downloaded file to merge into the registry.

For the Start Menu problem.

Right Click the Start Menu and select Properties/Customize Button/Advanced
Tab. R3emove the check mark from the "Open submenus when I pause on them
with my mouse" option.

Ron -- Thanks for the "heads up"! I had been to that site so many time
and could never quite figure out how they were meant to be implemented.
While I know the pitfalls involved with going overboard with such
tweaks, I only needed the ones you pointed me to. And they seem to work
just great! Now all I need to do is figure out why my taskbar wants to
hide underneath my browser windows...<lol> ;-Deano
