nable to open the D:\ drive by mouse clicking

R

Roy

Hello Folks
Just today I noticed that when I click on my computer with my mouse
or double click the c or D drive it does not open.
But
If I use the right click button to open it works...
One thing that is surprising is why there is an autoplay in C and D
drive when its supposed not to have such....?
Is this considered normal.....?
Can anybody give me any idea how this appear and how to sort this
out.?
I
My PC is installed with WinXP SP2
TIA
Roy

Roy,

What is the default option (shown in bold letters) when you right-click a drive? See if a file named autorun.inf exists in that drive. If it's present, delete it and restart Windows.

Another thing peculiar thing was with the Internet Explorer blue
bar ... I was surprised also that my internet URL title that appears
as a blue line at the top of the screen have an attached phrase that
arises out of nowwhere. How did it get there..? Is that a sign that my
PC was infiltrated by an add ware or something like a spyware. I have
a continuously updated internet security and how come it just appear
there?
My home page is Sony com, au and not there is another phrase next to
it called " Taga Lipa Here!
So it will appear as VAIO online- Taga Lipa Here!
Same also with other webpages that I open.....
Why would it appear not only in my home page but in every webpage that
I open...
I am perplexed and I can't think of any answer to this strange
happening.

I hope somebody have experience along this line that can give me a
clue how can I remove this nuisance phrase....
TIA

Enable Windows to show hidden files, and then check if the autorun.inf file exists.

Type c:\autorun.inf in Start, Run. If there is really an autorun.inf file, it will open. Other than that I have no clue. Checking the drive/directory/folder association settings would be a good idea.

Hello Ramesh,,,I can;t stilll find it but just realized it lately
that this is some kind of a malware called
TAGA LIPA ARE! FS6519.dll.vbs trojan virus. By googling I was able to
find some info about it and some ways to deal it but have not yet
succeeded yet
I have tried removing it manually but its persistent as it keeps
coming back in the registry.
I have to think of other options...

Roy,

You'll need to stop it from running at Startup.
