Mystery Process

When I start up my system, after all the initialisation processes have taken
place, I have some process running which grabs about 8% of the CPU every two
seconds. Looking at Task Manager no applications are running and the only
tasks that register any time on the process list, apart from the idle
process are explorer.exe and taskmgr.exe. How can I go about finding out
what is the process that is consuming the CPU intermittently.

Thanks in advance

Use Process Explorer http://tinyurl.com/y7wma8
and Process Monitor http://tinyurl.com/y355ao

PE is much easier, double click on the process to view details.
