Mystery CPU usage

Hi All
I have a Windows 2000 server with SP3. In task
manager the performance tab shows 25% CPU usage, but the
process tab does not show a process using that much
CPU, and the "system idle process" is showing 98%.


Any info on how track this CPU usage down would be great,

It could be that some of the used cpu power is assigned to kernel and isn't
somehow reflected under any process (even thow it should).
Make sure you checked "Show kernel times" option.
Then check to see if the red line (kernel) is taking up most of the CPU
time. If it is, it is most likely due to some drivers, possibly newly
installed hardware?
