The last few days, IE has been mysteriously shutting down when I try to
access some web pages. No error messages are shown. All currently running
instances of IE just shutdown immediately and without warning. It has
happened at different websites (including MSNBC) but doesn't seem to be
related to any particular website. Sometimes it happens; frequently it does
not. Yet, it is still annoying. I have an up-to-date virus scanner and no
viruses have been detected. Anybody have any clues?

Hi Richard,
There are several things to check here, and rather than try to list them
all, give you the site to check at your leisure. Go to Sandi's Site:
http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/ , and in the left hand frame under FAQ click
on Internet Explorer (2). Then, on the right side should be a topic titled
"IE shuts down without warning". It is the fourth item in the list. Check
the suggestions out, and please post back with your results.

HTH,
