Hi All,

In my C:\windows directory (XP Home), I have a series of files that
windows search highlights in blue.

Here's one example: $NtUninstallKB887742$ (again in blue).

I'm inclined to nuke these files as some of them are large in size,
and they seem to be part of some sort of past install/uninstall
process.

Windows disk clean doesn't remove them, CCleaner doesn't flag them as
well.

Should I pull the trigger????

TIA,

Al

These files are the result of all the security and other non-critical
updates installed on your PC from Microsoft's Windows Update site. They are
there just in case you need to un-install an update. If your PC is working
fine it's safe to remove them.

Thanks. PC is working fine.

It aint broke, I'll leave them there for now.
