Does anyone know what the file ddcya.dll does? I have been having a problem
with explorer.exe running all the time when the system should be idling. I
have search for spyware and scanned for viruses (Spybot, Adaware, Microsoft
Antispyware, AVG, and Norton)..and there are none that i can find. But
Security Task Manager listed the fild ddcya.dll as a possible high threat
file. I have quarantine it just in case it is the culprit. I was curious if
anyone knows what this file is for and if it is a virus..etc. Thanks

Alison

Start by deleting Temporary Internet Files and remove restore
points -Start, Disk CleanUp, More Options, System Restore.

For an alternative anti-virus scan create a new folder and download
Sysclean
http://www.trendmicro.com/download/dcs.asp)
Then download the latest Controlled Pattern Release zip
(http://www.trendmicro.com/download/pattern.asp, e.g., lpt123.zip) and
extract its contents to the same folder. See the Readme text file for
further instructions.

You may find Trojan Agent SK.

For an anti-spyware scan download Adaware SE
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/

Then try CWS Shredder
http://www.merijn.org/cwschronicles.html

Run all software in Safe Mode and as you remove viruses / spyware found
keep removing restore points.

Finally run Hijack This and post the report to a specialist Forum.

I had this last month.
It's a cool web search hijacker(CWS), as others have already mentioned it
might be a good idea to clear out your system restore.

Google for cwshredder.exe. It's designed to remove Cool Web.

NEVER download files from anywhere unless it is from the website of the
developer, manufacturer or some entity that you trust. They ALWAYS have the
most up to date files that haven't been tampered with by some third party
who is "hosting" (read Leeching) those files without permission.
