Hi all

Whenever I add an addtional USB device - digital camera or card reader it
alawys shows up in Explorer as 2 drives. ie in my case drives J: and K: and
another one is L: and M:.

Is there any reason for the system duplicating these devices and any way to
stop it?

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Thanx

does the reader or camera contain more than one card slot?

If so that will be the reason. My 7 slot card reader generates about 5
drives.

Did you install XP SP1 recently?

Hi

Thanks to JRS and John. The reader does have 4 slots. I haven't installed
SP1 since the original installation of XP but there have been many
updates/patches, etc.

I guess it's all down to the multi-slot situation.
