mymsn.com homepage is annoying me

I have internet explorer's home page set to my msn.
Frequently when I start IE I don't get there. Instead a
white page with "Object moved here", "here" is a link. I
clicked this in the past and the address bar gets filled
with gobbledegook a mile long. It then shows the correct
home page, I think. I'm not a trusting soul, read too
many security alerts. I recently reinstalled with my xp
pro sp2 slipstreamed cd and I'm using the windows
firewall along with the NIS firewall. It is still
happening and seems suspicious. I can hit refresh or
close IE and reopen or hit the homepage icon (each of
those remedies several times in a row) and get to
www.mymsn.com. Ran ad aware se and only got a couple
hitbox and a 2o7 cookie. Has anyone else eXPerienced this?

Thanks, I will try the adaware in safe and get the other
utility. I hadn't even been anywhere on the web yet
except to set up IE and OE. This was a brand new install,
could something on the msn home page be putting spyware
on my pc? Or could it be my isp, roadrunner? I recall the
recent worm that struck as soon as you connected to the
www. Spyware can't leech onto your pc like that can it?

You are not the only one. I've been getting it occasionally for a few months
now. I've tracked it down as much as possible and I don't think it is
problem at all. I have Norton AV, PestPatrol, Ad-Aware, Spybot, Hijack
This, Bazooka Scanner and BHO Demon and none find anything on my computer.
It appears to happen as the auto logon with msn switches to the correct web
page. It looks to me as though it is a MS problem but I haven't seen
anything from them about this.

I few others mentioned this a while ago about I haven't seen anything since
then.

I'm inclined to agree with you Frank. I had been to a
couple pages though, to get java and shock and flash. I
deleted cookies, files and short history. Ran adaware,
cwshreader.. both negative. Spybot found alexa "related"
and dso exploits, I destroyed them. After i set up .net
password, closed IE, the hit the www button on my pnp no
drivers keyboard it still happens. Thanks for your time
guys. Now to see if my experiment with destroying those
keys has made new trouble.

The symptom you are describing could indicate that HTTP control responses are not being interpreted correctly. That could mean
that
you have an incompatible firewall or other security software. If so,
try disabling it and see if your symptom changes.

Note: the page this thread is based on is constructed from frames
driven by JavaScript so a different symptom and explanation would
be possible if scripting is disabled. In that case, check what you
are receiving using View, Source.

I have the same problem as well. Several of us at work experience it but not
all of us. I have also noticed a significant slowdown at home through MSN.
MSN is my internet provider. In addition lost several local access numbers.
Sounds like someone may be saving some $$$ on support. The problem seems to
be widespread enough that microsoft should address it.
