i've had a similar problem lately after cleaning duplicate dll's....it
seems i took out one or two that were registered and left behind
unregistered ones...

the cure was to use dial-a-fix-2009-09-19.exe...you can find it on
google...or at:

http://wiki.djlixard.net/dial-a-fix

i think the 'registration center' will or might be a fix for you...just
run that section...reboot and you should be good to go...

in the future i recommend you use ERUNT/REGOPT for registry
backup...that can help in other times of crisis like this too...after a
time, since erunt backs up daily or when you tell it too, you will find
that it will use a lot of drive space and you may delete some of the
earlier backups..

i keep the current week, the starting good registry and every 15 to 30
days of each good registry. a good tool to use (while you are in
windows explorer) is bcwipe...which would be a right click on your
context menu...it overwrites (the number or times you tell it) when it
delets for you...you should run scandisk or chkdsk after any wiping
operation...and then defrag your drive... auslogics offers a good tool
for defrag as does o&o software for diskdefraglite....
also if you can find dklite7 (diskeeper) it is probably the best defrag
---all of these are free tools available by googling them....if you
need any other advice about diskcleaning or registry cleaning drop me
an email: jealex2 at gmail dot com...

have a good one.... j
