My word only types in red w/ strikethrough. Duh!

I'm using Word 2000 on an XP OS machine.
Was working fine with text and changes.
Suddenly it only writes in red and with a throughstrike. Both in typing and
when editing.
How can I fix it, please?

Switch off Track Changes (Tools menu). You possibly switched it on by the
shortcut Ctrl + Shift + E
 
And Accept All Changes in Document.
