My wireless network crashes 2nd nic card

I have a wireless network set up with a Microsoft MN500 router and MN510 usb adaptors on other pc'z and all runs fine.

I have a 2nd nic card in my PC for connecting another device to my PC. Every time I connect it to the 2nd nic card, it conflicts with my other nic running the network and I can't access internet , etc anymore..
The I disconnect 2nd nic cable and everything works fine again.
I am lost, the 2nd nic shouldn't even be connected to the wireless network in any way, but seems to be.

any help appreciated
