My Windows HID Input Service hanging the CPU at 99%. If I stop the service,
most of my Media Center Remote Control buttons don't work, but the CPU frees
up. Any idea how to fix this?

SYSTEM:
HP a1330n w/ Media Center 2005
Athlon64 3800+
1GB RAM
ATI X200 Radeon w/128 Fixed and 128 Shared.
ATI Wonder Elite TV Card
250GB SATA HD
2 Opt. DVD-RW & DVD-ROM
Creative

Main Software:
Office 2003
AVG Free AV
Windows Defender Beta 2
MSN, Google and Yahoo Messenger Apps

All patches and updates are up-to-date and the system is trouble-free other
than this. I purchased the Microsoft Media Center Remote & Receiver
seperately as the system did not include one.

Any help is appreciated!

I'm not really familiar with this setup but can you use System Restore
to get back to an earlier working state?

I actual went as far as to do a complete system restore formating the drive
and putting it back to the way it shipped from the factory. The problem is
the ATI Wonder Elite and the Microsoft remote system were add-ons. But both
are supposed to be 100% compatible with Media Center 2005.

The system is stable and doesn't crash, it just get slow and max.'s out my
CPU if I enable the HID Input service. Right now I just manually turn it on
when I want to use Media Center, but that shouldn't be that way. Any other
ideas?
