My Welcome screen icon is acting differently and want it back the way it was.

Hello all,

There is only 1 user account in my Windows XP, SP2 with all the latest
updates machine. It used to be that when I turned my computer on, the
Welcome screen would come on with my user account icon (me) and the
password login rectangle open for me to type in.

For a few days not, that Welcome screen comes on with the sole icon,
but now I have to click on it for the password rectangle to open up.

I want to change it back to the way it was originally since there is
still only 1 user account and no other accounts have been created.

Any hints on how to make it work the way it was working before without
having to click on that sole icon to input a password?

Thanks!

Hello Jardi,
you install some program that enters your own user account in windows.
Try go to run, enter control userpasswords2,and configure here or
try with registry tweaks:
AutoAdminLogon,DefaultPassword try google this words i havent time to explain
all.

Well, I have tried things as you suggested, unfotunately nothing has
worked so far, but your input is most welcome!
