my volume control doesnt work on dimension 6000

ever since i did a complete system reinstall, my exterior volume
controls on the laptop doesnt work.

additionally, the icons on the taskbar doesnt show the battery life
and the volume control. its a real pain as i need to continue
accessing the control panel for the volume control. battery life does
appear every now and again but it doesnt stay there permanently. ive
tried right click and choosing "always show" but it simply doesnt stay
and seems to appear and disappear at random.

any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Doesn't sound like you have reinstalled all the drivers.
