Hi,
Can anyone help?
My vista Ultimate edition refuse to send fax. When I click Windows Fax and
Scan, the system pop up a windows saying that Fax could not access my
document folder, so it could not be initialised.
I have stop the service, and restart it again, problem remains.
i did not use bitlock, or any other encryption software, so anyone can help?

"My" Documents? Point it to Documents in Vista; "My Documents" is for XP
compatibility and is a junction point not a real folder...

Except WFS doesn't offer the ability to browse to the Documents folder.
This error usually occurs when a user has moved their Documents folder to
the root of a drive.

Yes. Move it somewhere else. WFS can't find it when it is on the root of a
drive.

hi, Russ,
thanks for the suggestion.
The previous problem has been resolved by pointing the Document to a folder,
but new problem occurs.
After I start Windows Fax and Scan, I have configured User Info. Then I was
asked to create a fax account. But when I try to create an account use
built-in modem (I am using a Sony Vaio Laptop which comes with a built-in
Modem, and working fine), system says cannot find the modem. I delete the
name of the default one, later system says cannot contact RPC server. ???
May you please help. I think Vista makes the fax too complicated, XP used to
be simple and efficient.
Thanks

Actually WFS is far more reliable and tolerant of modems than its
predecessor in XP. Have you verified that your modem supports class 1 or 2
Fax and is on the Vista Hardware Compatibility List?
