Outlook 2003 sends the email correctly, but as soon as it is sent it
disappears from the outbox and I have no record of having send it. How can I
change this to keep the sent emails in the outbox?

Sent emails are located in the Sent folder or any other folder for which you
have set up a rule

Thank you for yout response, but unfortunately that is not my problem.
My out email is set up to go to the Outbox Folder, but does not stay there.
While the message is being sent, it is shown in the Outbox, but as soon as
the sent is throuygh it disappears form the outbox, so that I do not have a
record of emails that I have sent.

In Tools>Options>email options have you ticked save copies in Sent Items
Folder?
You do have a Sent Items Folder?
The OutBox is designed to hold mail that is pending a send, not mail that
has been sent
