My Recent Documents

Is it possible to put the 'My Recent Documents' icon in the Start menu on the
quick launch bar?

Hi,

open the Explorer, Your Profile (set the option "view
alle Files and Folders", then you can see Recent
Documents. Right klick: send to Desktop...., then you can
copy that link with Drag & Drop to your Quick Launch Bar.
But you see many more Documents.

Thank you for your prompt response.

I opened windows explorer but could not see anything marked 'Your Profile'.
I appeared to be viewing all the files on the Desktop. Any suggestions?

I'm not Marco but will go out on a limb to suggest that "Your Profile"
means "\Documents and Settings\Diana\

You should see a Recent Documents folder (one of several different folders)
in that location. Since this is a folder with the "system" attribute, you
will probably have to change Folder Options> View to show hidden
files/folders and, also, to not hide system folders/files.

NOTE: I used Diana to signify the folder for your personal user account -
however, not knowing how your system is setup, this folder could be named
something else. If not sure what the folder name for your account is, use
Start> Run and type in %userprofile% then click OK. Windows Explorer will
open, showing the folder for the account you are currently logged on with.

Open Windows Explorer and navigate to:
C:\\Documents and Settings\User\My Recent Documents

Left click the My Recent Documents icon and drag to the Quick Launch
tool bar. Release and choose 'Create Shortcut Here' from the pop up menu.

You can also create shortcuts to folders, files or anything else you can
find with Windows Explorer. My personal QL tool bar is populated with
about 30 shortcuts. This is really handy with applications that don't
"install" themselves, but just unzip somewhere.
