Somehow my profile was deleted along with all my important saved emails and
contacts. Is there any way to restore it?

Ummm it's VERY DIFFICULT to delete all that by accident. What makes you
think it's been deleted?

Emily If you are running outlook from exchange server, no problem: Just
recreate your profile and everything will be there. If you using PST
folder, just locate the pst and open it. everything must be there. and yes,
it is a very difficult to do by mistake. what happens?

I don't know what the difference is between an exchange server and a PST
folder, sorry.

I was creating a profile for my new employee but a window popped up that
said some sort of error so I closed it down. When I went to log into my
profile, it was gone.

if you are receiving email from a corporate email server, probably it is an
exchange profile to create. If you download the messages as POP mail, then
it is a PST file. give us details and we can help in creating the profile or
reopen the pst file.

Start>Control Panel>Mail>Show Profiles

Also, it does not show up when I open up outlook and it promps to choose a
profile to open.

The majority come from a corporate server but a few come from a gmail account
but those I am not so worried about.

I am using Outlook 2007. The web guy at our corporate office just told me
that we have a POP3 server, not an exchange server.

E

EmilyP

I was able to re-create my profile for the POP3 account but none of my
contacts or anything came back up. Did I do something wrong?

J

Jorge

nop, now search on your computer for *.pst which is the personal folders
file. If the other profiles use POP then every profile have a pst file
associated. yours probably will be into your profile folders, Once located,
write the location and go to oulook menus, file, open, outlook data file and
browse for the location and file. If system usind defaults, this will be an
easy find. and you will see old messages on outlook personal folders.

E

EmilyP

Okay, it is asking me what program I want to open it with.

If I try to open it with Outlook 2007, it says it is not a valid Win32
application.

Thanks for helping me so much. I am sure you could have done all of this in
five minutes!

J

Jorge

No!! open outlook first then, go file, open, open outlook data file and
browse for the location and file
