My Power Options arent working, can you help me?

My power options arent working. I want to change the settings so my laptop
does not go on standby within 3 minutes. I go into the control Panel then
Power options. I see where I can change it, but it wont let me. Please help!

I would suggest that you repost this question in a newsgroup for your
version of Windows (microsoft.private.windowsxp.general for example);
this newsgroup is for the database program Microsoft Access, not for
general computer questions.

And be sure to tell them what version of Windows you are using, if you
have any screen savers and you might want to add the make and model of the
computer.
