In the folder tree for drive C, there are several folders that cannot be
opened, and a "Access denied" message pops up. Is there a way for these
folders to be opened, or, if not, can they be safely deleted? These folders
are:
c:\Document & Settings
C:\System Volume Information
C:\Users\Alfred\Applications Data
C:\Users\Alfred\Cookies
C:\Users\Alfred\Local Settings
C:\Users\Alfred\My Documents
C:\Users\Alfred\NetHood
C:\Users\Alfred\PrintHood
C:\Users\Alfred\SendTo
C:\Users\Alfred\Sgtart Menu
C:\Users\Alfred\Templates
C:\Users\Default User

This has got nothing to do with Word. They are called junctions and you can
not open them or delete them without a great effort - and you should not try
as you could easily damage your system. They exist for compatibility reasons
and whatever you might expect to find in them can be found in an equivalent
folder with a different name (e.g. Users instead of Documents and Settings)
