'My Pictures Slideshow' is a standard screensaver supplied
with WindowsXP. It does not have a 'random' checkbox - if it
did, I would have unchecked it!
Hmmm. Didn't even know this one existed, so I tried it. Sure
enough, there seems to be NO control whatsoever as to the order
of the slides as they flip across the screen. I use the old Jasc
Media Center Plus 3.12 screen saver, long out-of-production,
which changes in the order they files are in what it calls
"albums", so I can control it by how I sort the album, e.g.,
alphabetical, by date, by size, etc. I guess if you want to use a
feebie that comes with Windows, maybe you also have to accept its
limitations, else look around for something that is
free/shareware. Good luck!
