My Pictures Folder Problem

I can not open My Pictures folder. I'm using xp pro and
have NOT d/l sp2 yet.

After I open the My Documents folder on my desktop, I
then double click on the My Pictures folder and it starts
to open then hangs indefinately. I then have to ctrl +
Alt + delete and end the task manually.

If I go the long way..My Computer => C: => docs and
settings => user folder => My Documents => My Pictures it
will open up without any problems??

Anyone have a suggestion to fix this?? Its pretty
annoying.

Have you tried SCANDISK or renaming the Folder?

Do you happen to have Adobe PhotoShop or
Elements installed?

If you do...right click on a .jpg file and choose
Properties. Click the Photoshop Image tab
and uncheck the "Generate Thumbnails" button,
then click OK.
