My Outlook XP closes instantly after it comes up...

I click on the Outlook...up comes the main page.. and instantly goes away
[back to desktop]... and I mean instantly... tried "Detect and Repair" to
know avail...all updates are completed...can't figure this one out.

Can you start it in safe mode (i.e., click Start>Run. Enter "outlook.exe
/safe" in the Open field)?

Thanks Brian for the reponse...
After reading threw all the prior posts here... I did try that...I just
forgot to write it in to let you know... [sorry]...What I ended up doing, was
I uninstalled Office XP, then reinstalled it... it works totally fine...but I
would like to know what happened and why.... I also went to MS and tried
renaming extend.dat to .old and a couple of other things that i read, but to
no aviail. any ideas why?
Again I appreciate you responding. I just couldn't wait any longer with out
having it run... so i went the reinstall route.
