My office will not send and recieve when offline - any ideas?

My office will not send and recieve when offline - any ideas? I am running
norton but I don't think the firewall is stopping it happening. Everything is
configured to tell Office to send and recieve every 2 minutes when offline
but I don't ever get a new message notification
 
Offline?
Don't set for less than 10 mins - can cause v.probs
Email is not an immediate media, so your not missing anything
