My Network Places, computers near me

Out of 3 computers that I am preparing to network in my home, I have one
that can not "see" itself in Computers near me. I can however find it in a
search. I have checked everything that I know but to know avail.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure that the workgroup of that machine is same as that of other
machine.
And also make sure that it is in the same subnet(IP Address).

Also make sure Netbios is turned ON. I had the same problem once and it
was due to my disabling Netbios..
