My music files sound like Alvin and the Chipmunks

I've run the DXDiag to determine why my music and other
sound files playback at an accelerated rate. No matter
what setting I select in the Control Panel, my PC still
sounds like Alvin and co.

Any pointers?

Cant help you but i am having similar problems but with
delays rather than acceleration. What is DXDiag as it
might help my diagnosis?
