my MS Word Processer attatchments can not be opened

Others (my contacts) can not open my email attatchments (word documents)
created by me using latest XP MS Works Word Processer Program & sent per
Outlook Express using my Hotmail A/c. My contacts say their computers do not
recognise what program created the attatchment?? I have new Dell XP with it's
installed programs. Can someone help?

Try zipping the document before attaching it to the e-mail.
If these are Works fiels rather than Word files, the recipients will need
Works or the appropriate Works filter to open them with Word. Most of the
Works filters are linked from my web site - the rest are included with Word,
though may not be installed by default.

If Graham's suggestions don't help, try saving from Works in RTF format;
this can be opened by any word processor, including Word.
