MY MOUSE WONT WORK ! SORRY ! Help !

HI! Im sorry my caps lock was on I didnt relize it meant
I was yelling. sorry ! Im just a crazy girl I guess! I
dont have much comp experience. so to any one whos
reading this my mouse wont work at all after geting a new
one. I tried to attach the mouse in the USB port while it
was on that dosnt work. I look in the device manger and
it dosnt even show a mouse or ps/2 or anything like it
wasnt ever there. the comp has a ps/2 port but dosnt show
any mice in the device manager. Ive tried un and
reinstalling the software that didnt work ! I look in the
mouse settings it shows the mouse I installed but under
hardware it dosnt show anything. Can anyone help PLEASE !
And give me insrtuctions. Its windows XP. The comp is not
even a year I dont have Instructions. some one said to
enter the BIOS I dont know how to. Im not stupid I know
my way around the comp a little just not alot. If you can
PLEASE give me some options and some directions on what
it might be ! Ill be thankfull. THANK YOU !

Should be driver problem. Try getting updated mouse drivers from the mouse
vendor. Check whether you have inserted in correct jack(modem PS/2). Bios
usually depends upon the motherboard you use. Try DEL, F1 or F10 during
startup(POST) and see if you have enabled PS/2 ports.

If you have serial port on system, better go for new compatible one. Its
cheap.
