My mouse wheel zooms the page instead of scrolling

Whenever I use my mouse wheel in Excel, it zooms the page in and out rather
than scroll. This happens only in excel.
 
try,

Tools|Options|General tab
Uncheck zoom on scroll with intellimouse

For XL'07, that's found under Excel Options, Advanced, Edition options.
 
Which judging by the general level of moaning I will do well to avoid for now
