Hi =?Utf-8?B?TGlnaHRmb290?=,
I'm using Office Word 2003. I did not creat a template first before creating
anything. Is there a way to go back and do this?
Yes, sort of.
You could create the template, generate a new document from it, then copy/paste
everything EXCEPT the last paragraph mark from each sub-document. Go into
Tools/Templates and Addins and activate the checkbox to automatically update the
styles from the template. When you "OK" that dialog box, the style definitions
should then be copied in from the template. That will assure that every document
using a particular style has the same style definition. If you see "odd"
formatting after doing this, you may want to format that text with a different
(more appropriate) style. Again, this should come from the template.
At the end, generate the Master Doc from the template as well, then start
inserting the sub-docs. make sure you make copies of the sub-docs before you
start doing this. Then, if something goes wrong, you won't have lost any work.
The things that are changing from my subdocuments to my master document are
Headings (If there is two lines for the header, there is a large space
between them) and some of the font changes from the subdoc to the master doc.
