my letters are appearing on top of each other how can i stop it?

When I type in a new word document all my letters are moving on top of each
other. This only happens on Portrait not on landscape. Can you help?
 
This is a known bug. Chances are you have an HP printer. Try changing your
default printer to something else, save it, close it, open it again, and
change it back to your printer. I've even seen just closing the document and
reopening it work. (It happened to my boss one day - and he was not known
for his tolerance of quirks.)
