my keyboard! what the heck is wrong?

my latop keyboard has suddenly decided that it won't do what its told (if
you're wondering, i'm using the onscreen one.) instead of typing qwertyuiop
asdfghjkl zxcvbnm as it is meant to, it types qwerty456*asdfgh123zxcvbn0. its
not like numbrs have been swapped for the letters, either. the 5 is still a
5, the 0 a 0 - except now, the m key also types 0.

what can i do? my dad's gonna kill me! can ANYONE help?

Hit either Shift + Numlock (hold down the Shift key, then hit the Numlock
key) or Fn + Numlock (hold down the Fn key, then hit the Numlock key)
according to which laptop model and make you own one should do the trick.
