my icons are white

I was wondering, I ran a disk clean up the other night - and well, not sure
if this has anything to do with it at all, but now all my icons are white ...
they were white on my desktop and when I click the start - and they all line
up, they are all white, but when I rebooted, the ones on my desktop are back
and ok, but the ones under my start menu are still white? There's no photos
of the icons like use to appear? Does anyone know a fix for this or why this
has happened? Any help would be appreciated...

I'm assuming that you are referring to the entries on the left side of the
start menu. Right click an entry, then click on Properties. You should see
an entry in the Target: box. At this point, you can click the Find Target
.... button or the Change Icon... button. One of these options may refresh
the icon on the Start menu.

Go to Documents and settings\Administrator \Local Settings\Application
Data\...Note the value of the hidden
file named IconCache.db probable 2k +KB

Start regedit. Open to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer
in the right hand pane create a New String Value and name it MaxCachedIcons
set the value to 4096 restart the computer & recheck the db file above
