my ftp server

Looks like someone was having problems navigating in my ftp server. It's
the Baby ftp server from Pablo van der Meer that I have set for the standard
port 21. If you want to use my server make sure your client is compatible
with this server. If too many people have problems I'll switch it out with
one of the other servers either WebWeaver or TYPSoft.

BTW...LeechFTP seems to work without problem.

Filezilla works too.
Isn't possible to add a small TXT file briefly explaining what all the
programs are good for?

How to download from your site?

I went to several music files, in old Netscape, doubleclick on the file
name normally opens a download screen. Here, Netscape attempts to play
the audio file (?). Context menu right click on file is no help here.

Advice?

Email (e-mail address removed) with your questions or ask here or go to my
public news server at urls.sytes.net port 119 and page me there. Most files
should be fairly recognizable.

Try "right-click->save as" or you can email me and let me know what you want
and I'll send it back as attachments or you can ftp into urls.sytes.net with
anonymous login. LeechFTP works well with the Baby ftp server from Pablo
van der Meer.

Pablo's "FTP Wanderer" works great. Everything was dead fast.

Yeah...that is a pretty decent client. I generally use that one, sometimes
Leechftp.

Hello Ceg:
Thanks for the offer of emailing the files, your help above worked to
download them.

I ran LeechFTP and Baby FTP server for the first time. I downloaded
files, but both programs are new to me and I may not have the best
settings.

You seem to be familiar with them. What is the proper way to use them
both to download from your site?

Thanks,

Mike Sa

Baby FTP Server is a server program. You would use that if you are going to
set up files on your computer for people to download from your computer.

LeechFTP is a client. The FTP Wanderer program from Pablo van der Meer is
also a fairly good client program. This is what lets you go into someone's
ftp space so that you can download programs. There really is not much you
need to do with a client other than set up an entry for whatever servers
you'll be getting files from. With LeechFTP you can set up what's called a
"bookmark". That allows you to double click an icon to "call" an ftp server
rather than having to type in the server name, etc. each time.
