My favourite Notepad replacements

With all the talking about text editors lately I thought I would make a
list of my five favourite Notepad replacements. I think a Notepad
replacement shouldn't be much bigger than 100 kb, therefore many superb
text editors (like Notetab Light) are excluded from my list.

1. Metapad (http://liquidninja.com/metapad/)
+ Many text manipulation tools
+ "Favourite files" menu entry
+ Option to always start with the same window position
+ "Hyperlinks require doubleclick" option (to prevent unwanted launching
of URLs)
+ Sizeable margin width
+ Quick buffers (resembles the Autotext feature in Editor2)
- No Unicode

2. NoteXPad (http://notexpad.yeah.net/)
+ Beautiful toolbar
+ Syntax highlighting (but it doesn't highlight all my HTML tags
correctly)
+ Unicode
+ "Hyperlinks require doubleclick" option (to prevent unwanted launching
of URLs)
+ Sizeable margin width
+ File changed notification
- Not so many text manipulation tools

3. Editor2 (www.netez.com/2xExplorer)
+ Autotext for easy insertion of HTML tags (or other text fragments)
+ Unicode
+ Bookmark option for easy returning to a certain position in the text
- Not so many text manipulation tools
- Some options can only be changed in the registry (flat toolbar,
margin)

4. Ted Notepad (http://jsimlo.sk/notepad/)
+ Many text manipulation tools
+ Unicode
+ Extended clipboard (resembles the Autotext feature in Editor2)
- Sizeable margin width according to Options dialog, but it doesn't work
- No URL detection
- No toolbar

5. Win32Pad (www.gena01.com/win32pad/)
+ File changed notification
- Not so many options as the others

Ted Notepad-quite good. I use Babya Notepad (based on a C++ sample project)
myself
