My Downloads files -- should they be deleted?

Whenever I download a program from the web, it goes to the "My Downloads"
folder. I then click on that program to install it on my computer. The
installation creates a new program folder in the "Program Files" directory,
which contains the necessary files to run that program. So once that program
is installed, should I delete the original downloaded program file from the
"My Downloads" folder, or should it remain there?

Yes the setup files can be deleted.

You may want to consider saving them to disk, for future use.
