Hi there, WinXP Pro crashed, would not even go into safe
mode to allow file to be moved so I ran setup to see if I
could perform a "replace and repair" but the option was
not available to me. All I could do was select "L" and
delete my windows installation and start again. What I
am wondering is if I go into my computer and navigate to
my docs they are gone, about 30GB of stuff. This was
expected as windows sets up the docs and settings
folder. What I don't get is that my free space is NOT 30
GB lighter. Where did the files go?

Restorer2000 kinda finds the structure and some of the
files but according to the free space they are there
somewhere I just can't access them.

Any ideas would be very much appreciated!

TIA,
Derek

When you performed a clean installation, your new documents and settings
folder was created next to your old one. Try this:

1. Start > Run
2. Type "\documents and settings", and hit Enter
3. Look for folders with your user name in their title (there should be at
least two of these)
4. Navigate inside of them to view your documents
