My Documents

I have a PCV-RZ54G Sony VAIO computer. I just did a full recovery. I have
two drives. I read that the C drive is for the original programs (it's only
50GB) and I should install all my programs to the D drive. What I don't
understand is that when it set up "My Documents" folder, it set it up on the
C drive. If I save all my documents to "My Documents" won't I run out of
room on the C Drive?

Press Start. Right click on My Documents. Go to Properties | Move. Change it
to another drive/partition.

your C: drive (at 50 gigs) is really quite large...
you can easily install XP there and all your applications.

If the day comes that your C: drive is getting too full...
you can always move some of your data to the D: drive.

How fast your C: drive fills up will depend on what type of data you have.

If you are making movies (for example) it may fill up rather fast.
OTOH: If you are creating a lot of Word documents...you may never fill up
the C: drive

Thanks for such a quick response. If I decide to move "My Documents" to the
D drive will that mess up any other programs such as allowing pictures to
show up in "Media Center"

if you decide to move "my documents" by using the method given by the other
respondent...
you should be fine.
just be sure to *not* simply attempt to click and drag the folder to the
other drive

Most programs, by default, will save into the My Documents folder (wherever
it may be) - unless you direct that program to do otherwise.
